NEWS FLASH Important: Disbanding of [xs] - December 05, 2011
We, the members of the Extreme Soldiers, establish this Constitution. All members agree to abide by the rules set forth. Any visitors connecting to our servers or participating on our website agree to abide by all sections that are in some way relevant to them. Your consent is implied by using any of our services. We reserve the right to run the clan as we choose and may change the rules at our discretion.
Extreme Soldiers is the publisher and operator of this website (www.extreme-soldiers.com). Hereinafter referred to by "Extreme Soldiers", "us", "we", "our", or other first person pronouns.
You: The person entering into this agreement. Hereinafter, users who view this website will be referred to as "you", "your", or any applicable second-person pronouns.
Article I. General Rules
Section 1 – Behavior
All members of the clan and visitors are expected to behave well while on our website, game servers, or voice servers. Racial slurs, sexual remarks, and harassment are strictly prohibited. Swearing is generally allowed unless it is severely detracting from the server experience.
Treat all players as you would your friends or family. Our servers are running in order to create a fun, fair environment where all players enjoy being on the server.
If you have problems with a player on the server, do not argue back. Find an admin on Xfire and notify them there is an issue on the server. If you cannot get hold of an admin, take demos or screenshots of the occurrence and post them on the forums or use the contact form on our website.
Section 2 - Recruitment
Every recruit is required to stay in communication with the clan. Registering on the website and participating in the forums is required. Using the Xfire program is also required. Forum participation and Xfire usage does not expire after you are accepted. Ventrilo is optional but recommended. New recruits are expected to be playing on our server(s) frequently.
All members must be at least 15 years old to join the clan. No exceptions.
Upon posting an application, you agree to everything stated in this clan constitution and that your information submitted is accurate. You agree to any punishment deemed fit by the website administrators for infraction of the rules.
Section 3 - Cheating
Cheating of any kind is strictly prohibited. If you cheat on one server, you will be banned from all our servers. "Testing" any form of cheat is not an excuse and will be treated as if you were "really cheating".
Exploiting glitches in the game during a live game is not allowed. This includes advanced trick jumps, setting claymores then switching teams, and anything else exploiting the game. If you want to do any of that, go on an empty server or private server where everybody is in on it.
Section 4 - Extreme Soldiers Branding
No one may use the Extreme Soldiers name or claim to be representing the Extreme Soldiers without the consent of an Administrative Staff. This includes, but is not limited to, renaming a game server using the [xs] tags.
Any requests to use the Extreme Soldiers name, tag, etc. must go through an Administrative Staff member. Any request from a user who is not a clan member already will be automatically denied. The game server or other service must uphold the standards of the clan. Further requirements will be discussed individually for each request.
Article II. Clan Members
Section 1 - Names
You are allowed to change your username, player name, Xfire name, and other names that distinguish you. However, in order to lessen confusion, we ask you do not change your name too often.
Tags should be worn at all times. The tag should look similar to this: [xs] Name. The space is optional. When you are wearing the tag you are representing the clan so you must maintain the order set forth by the clan policies.
Section 2 - Double Clanning
Being part of two clans for any game we take part in is strictly prohibited. You are allowed to join clans for other games as long as we do not have divisions for it. You may, however, join a clan for the game on a different system. For example, it is acceptable to be part of a COD4 Xbox clan at the same time as [xs].
Section 3 - Private Forums
Any information in private forums regarding clan information is confidential to anyone who does not have access to this information from the account they use. Breeching the confidentiality of private forums could result in a warning or ban based on an administrator's discretion.
Section 4 - Maintaining Membership
As expected in your recruitment period, you will be required to continue participating on the forums, using Xfire, and playing on the servers. We often look through the members to see who has not been to the forums in a long time. If you have any days you will be gone or if your computer isn't working properly, please inform us by posting in the forums. Being gone for a few days or a week will not cause you to lose your membership, but it’s always nice to hear from members. If you are gone long enough that we remove you, you are welcome to reapply and you will most likely be accepted quickly unless you caused a lot of problems. Typically, if you have been away for a month or more when we check activity, you’ll be moved to inactive.
Section 5 - Disciplinary Action
First Offense: Warning
Second Offense: Warning
Third Offense: Two Week Suspension. (No Forums, Ventrilo, or Servers)
Fourth Offense: Kicked from clan, potentially banned from servers
Use of hacks will escalate to a fourth offense with a permanent ban.
The seriousness of any action will be determined by the server admin or staff and we reserve the right to skip any offense levels based on the situation.
Section 6 - Roster Groups Explained
As a clan, we try to have a minimal amount of ranks. However, we obviously need staff to run the clan as we cannot have all the members doing this. The staff in our clan are players who have generally been here since day one. Administrative staff are the clan leaders. They make the behind the scenes decisions, manage the website and servers, clan funds, and more. The rest of the staff is one level down with less access. Server admins are a minor form of the staff with some moderating capabilities and server admin access.
Everyone else is a Clan Member. These are the people that do the dirty work keeping our clan active and finding new recruits. There is another category: Inactive. Inactive players are ones that just leave, putting us in the dark about where they are and if they are still with us. Inactive players could also be players who still visit the forums every so often but do not contribute much of anything or never play.
Article III. Forum Usage
Section 1 - Searching
For many occasions, your topic or question has already been posted about. Try to use the search function for related topics, especially if the subject may have happened a few months ago. This will remove clutter from the forums. Please view section 3 first regarding grave digging.
Section 2 - Posting New Topics or Replies
Posts should be made in the relevant forum and in the correct topic if applicable. It is a pain for moderators to move and merge posts all of the time.
Topic titles should reflect the content of the post accurately. All CAPS, leet speak, text language, or any language other than English should not be used. The title should not be generic (ex. "problem") but rather a few words about the subject of the topic (ex. "Graphics Card Problem").
Members need to respect all users, respect all copyright and trademark rights, and post only appropriate material. The board is aimed toward an ages 15+ audience. Although you are more at liberty to swear and argue than on the servers, what you post may reflect what players see our clan as. There may be content here and there which may not appeal to all users. You may choose not to view all pages if this is the case.
Moderators have the right to remove or edit any posts if it violates any rules or at their own discretion. "Back seat moderators" or trying to act like a moderator when you have no moderator privileges is not allowed.
Section 3 - Grave Digging
Forum goers use the term "Grave Digging" in order show that a thread has been dug up after a long period of inactivity. This term (Grave Digging) is in no way a positive thing because it is just a sign that you cannot find anything recently to post in. If you find the topic you hoped to start a thread for, you may contribute to it even if it is relatively old if you have new valid input.
Section 4 - Double posting
Double posting occurs when a user posts either the same information twice or posts twice consecutively in a thread.
Sometimes avoiding a double post can be hard especially if your internet decides it wants to suck lemons. Assuming you accidentally forgot something to say in your post, look for an "edit" or "delete" button. The forum edit button can be found conveniently next to the quote button.
"Whoa! I don't have an edit button!" In this case, you're screwed. But seriously, if you do not have the ability to edit your posts, then you simply post your needed (meaningful) information under it. If the post doesn't really need to be posted at that time, wait a while to see if anyone else will post.
Section 5 - Posting Images
Located conveniently at the top of posts with the rest of the BB Code tags is the [img] tag. This tag will automatically resize your picture if it exceeds the maximum size set for the forum. You should not post excessively large images as they will be required to be loaded fully before they are scaled down.
Section 6 - Advertisements
Advertisements of any commercial service, product, gaming clan, or third party website are not allowed. Any requests for an advertisement must go through the website ad system for a quote and/or whether or not it would be allowed.
Typical spam is an example of a bannable offense. Since we are a sponsored clan, we allow GameServers.com to be the only advertised server provider. You are allowed to post links to gaming related items (eg. Games on Steam, parts at Newegg, etc), however you may be told to lessen up if you do it too often, especially if you are only trying to get out an affiliate link.
Someone looking for ideas for a new graphics card and you posting "[link] is good and it is $150" is not considered a bannable advertisement.
Section 7 - Private Messages
Private messages follow the rules of general forum participation. You may not privately advertise, personally attack someone, etc. We will not read your forum posts, however, with reports and suspicions we may be need to read them.
Section 8 - Disclaimer
